“Takoma Park Silver Spring Co-op promotes healthful living by offering wholesome foods, high quality products and community resources in a clean, friendly and cooperative grocery store … that you own!” – TPSS.coop
What is TPSS?
TPSS Co-op is a natural foods grocery store operating in the interest of its community. They are a cooperative business owned by friends and neighborhood residents. The first TPSS Co-op started as a vegetarian storefront on Sligo Avenue in Takoma Park in 1981. In February 1998, they moved to the Ethan Allen Avenue store. Their second store opened in October 2001 on Grubb Road in Silver Spring.
TPSS is a member of the National Cooperative Grocers Associations, which includes more than 100 co-ops around the country that work together to optimize resources, strengthen purchasing power, and offer more value to owners.
TPSS makes every effort to carry products from local vendors and products that are wholesome, ecologically friendly, and socially responsible and to offer those products at the lowest prices possible.
